St. Francis is situated in the village of Newcastle Co Wicklow and opened its doors in 1982. It is under the patronage of the Church of Ireland. The school has 94 pupils and has 4 teachers. The school has four mainstream class teachers, one full time Special Education Teacher and one shared Special Education Teacher
The school is managed by the Board of Management which comprises of the rector, the principal, parish nominees, teacher representative and parent nominees. The school has close links with the Parish of Newcastle. Assemblies are held in the church once a month as well as special services such as Christmas services.
